Green Industries SA (GISA) continues to support South Australia's transition to a more circular economy, with $380,000 in funding recently awarded through the Circular Economy Market Development Grant (CEMDG) program.
The CEMDG program aims to unlock the potential of the circular economy by supporting developing markets for circular products and materials, including for problematic and emerging waste streams, and promoting increased adoption of circular design, business models and practices.
The grant funding has been awarded to 6 businesses, across a range of industries:
- Bedford Group: melamine coated particleboard circular manufacturing investigation ($41,360)
- Fleurieu Milk Company: expansion of the reusable milk keg and glass bottle model via an enhanced digital platform and traceability tracking system
- John Holland Guidera O’Connor: PVC loop ($50,000)
- Next Gen Waste Co: circularity for agriculture and aquaculture plastics waste on Eyre Peninsula ($60,000)
- Transmutation: Environmental Product Declaration ($19,841)
- Valley Precise Global: Polymer Economic Recovery Grocery Basket ($100,000)
Applications for the funding were open to local councils, industry associations, not-for-profit organisations, research institutes and businesses that design, apply and scale-up innovative circular economy business models and practices or produce, manufacture, sell or promote South Australian recycled materials and/or recycled-content products.
