Community circular hubs

Current production and consumption practices are unsustainable and significantly contribute to climate change. The more goods citizens purchase and consume, the greater their environmental footprint. Many of the items people buy are not fully utilised.

Community circular hubs are physical spaces that offer residents a one-stop-shop to services like repair workshops, libraries of things, recycling drop-offs, education, and community gardens. They aim to boost sustainability, affordability, and social connection within communities.

Green Industries SA launched a Community Circular Hub Guide in November 2024 to help establish community circular hubs, making circular goods and services more convenient, accessible, and visible. This guide is essential reading for developers, councils, and organisations committed to advancing the circular economy.
